Stewart has missed the last two games of this series, with Paul Reed replacing him in the rotation. The Pistons would stick with that adjustment if Beef Stew misses Game 4. His absence also means more playing time for starter Jalen Duren, provided he stays out of foul trouble.

Schroder’s play on both ends of the floor is one reason why the Pistons have been highly competitive in their first postseason appearance since 2019. After scoring eight points in Game 1, he totaled 38 in Games 2 and 3, making plays on and off the ball. Also, Schroder has done a good job of defending Jalen Brunson when his name has been called, even if the Knicks point guard made some big plays down the stretch on Thursday. Schroder and the Pistons will look to even the series on Sunday when they host Game 4.

Porzingis bounced back from a low-scoring Game 3 with his second double-digit outing of the series. The performance included two three-pointers, which were the first of the opening round for the nine-year veteran center. With Porzingis finding his touch from beyond the arc, perhaps he’ll sustain his rhythm in Tuesday’s Game 5 in Boston, where the Celtics will look to close out the series.

While his overall field goal percentage in Game 4 was subpar, Randle’s fast start helped the Timberwolves stay within striking distance early on. He shot 4-of-6 from the field in the first quarter, with Minnesota heading into the second trailing by four. Randle has scored 22 points or more in each of his last three games, shooting 24-of-52 from the field. He and the Timberwolves will look to close out the series on Wednesday in Los Angeles.

Aldama was the replacement in the Grizzlies’ starting lineup for Ja Morant, who sat out with a hip contusion. The fourth-year forward played well, shooting efficiently and providing value as a rebounder. The 2024-25 season was a good one for Aldama, who had his moments after being considered little more than a late-round option in the fall. He finished just outside the top-100 in eight- and nine-cat formats, providing greater value in the latter. Aldama will be a restricted free agent this summer.
