After being listed as inactive for five straight games, Simpson has started Charlotte’s last two with LaMelo Ball (ankle) sidelined. During this two game stretch, Simpson has averaged 13.5 points, five rebounds, 3.5 assists, two steals and one three-pointer per game. If Ball remains out for Charlotte’s matchup with Washington on Saturday, Simpson should be in line for another start. With Charlotte at the bottom of the standings, managers should expect to see Simpson on the floor often as the season winds down, and he should hold plenty of value if he remains in the starting lineup.

Okogie finished his year on a high note and matched Jusuf Nurkic for the team’s high in points. He provided Charlotte with some much-needed energy down the home stretch. The 26-year-old is under contract for a reasonable $7.75 million in 2025-26 and should be a reasonable end-of-rotation player next year.

Nurkic scored at least 14 points in four straight games to end the regular season and nearly wound up with a double-double here. The 30-year-old big put together some solid stat lines even when Mark Williams played on several occasions. Nurkic has one year remaining on his four-year, $70 million contract he signed with the Suns in 2022. His role for next year in Charlotte is up in the air and it would not be surprising if he were dealt.

After scoring 30 points in Tuesday’s loss to Golden State, Bane once again had another productive night on the offensive end. He didn’t match his point total from that game, but he didn’t need to. Bane made up for a slightly lower scoring night by matching Ja Morant as the leader in assists in this game. Bane, Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. combined to score 68 of the Grizzlies 120 points in this game. If all three are clicking for their series against the Thunder, they’ll have a chance to win some games.

Despite dealing with an ankle injury, Morant played a significant role in the Grizzlies’ blowout win over the Mavs. He had an injection to help his ankle on Thursday, and it paid off in the first half as he contributed 16 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals prior to the break. Unfortunately, he struggled after halftime, which nearly allowed Dallas to complete a big comeback. Morant will have about 36 hours to rest his ankle for they take on the Thunder in Game 1 of their first round series on Sunday.

Mitchell only scored one point in the first half, but he came up big for Miami after the break. Mitchell scored 15 points in the second half, including nine points in overtime. Combined with his defense on Trae Young, Mitchell was instrumental in helping the Heat survive Atlanta’s comeback. He’ll continue to be an important reserve for Miami as they take on Cleveland in the first round of the playoffs. He’ll do his best to slow down Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell, but he likely won’t contribute as much offense as he did in this game.
