49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said he’s expecting to get Jauan Jennings (hip) back after the bye week.

Jennings should be third in the pecking order for the 49ers passing offense after they get back from bye, behind Deebo Samuel and George Kittle. Whether Christian McCaffrey can bump him down further remains to be seen. Jennings proved he was capable of big days with his 11/175/3 game against the Rams in Week 3, and you can never be sure that Samuel is going to stay on the field, but Jennings is probably more likely to be an ancillary target going forward. He doesn’t necessarily need to be kept through a bye week crunch if your team desperately needs help.
