Antonio Gibson (hip) said he is optimistic about playing in Week 1 against the Bengals.

The Patriots listed him as questionable for Week 1. Gibson popped up on the injury report on Thursday, suggesting the hip issue occurred during practice. He was on the field on Friday and told reporters his hip responded well to the reps. He will likely get a questionable tag heading into the weekend, but all signs point to the free agent addition suiting up on Sunday. The Patriots are massive underdogs to the Bengals, which should result in plenty of pass attempts from Jacoby Brissett as his team plays from behind. That will keep Gibson in the RB4 mix for his first game with New England.
