Baker Mayfield completed 24-of-30 passes for 289 yards and four touchdowns in a 37-20 Week 1 win over the Commanders, adding 21 yards on three rushes as well.

The veteran Heisman Trophy winner outdueled the reigning Heisman Trophy winner pretty easily here. We’re not sure if this is a testament to the Bucs’ offense or the Commanders’ defense, but things looked almost easy for Mayfield on Sunday. He was able to escape pressure in the instances where it happened and drove the ball downfield continuously. He found Mike Evans for two touchdowns, Chris Godwin for another, and rookie Jalen McMillan for a third, and it seems like the Bucs have four strong receiving options, including Rachaad White, to give Mayfield plenty of options. He could duplicate what we saw last year and gets another good matchup against the Lions next week.
