Brock Purdy (back) was removed from the injury report and will play in the 49ers’ Week 4 game against the Patriots.
Purdy was never likely to miss this game, practicing in full since Wednesday. He remains a borderline QB1/2, boosted by his pass-catching corps’ improving health.
CBS’ Jonathan Jones reports that the 49ers will comply with NFL rules by conducting “an open search” for their vacant offensive coordinator position despite Kyle Shanahan naming passing game specialist Klay Kubiak to the role.
