Browns placed CB Greg Newsome II (hamstring) on the active/NFI list.

Newsome underwent surgery to correct the issue and Kevin Stefanski told reporters that the team will “hopefully have [Newsome] back for Week 1.” Newsome has proven himself as a difference-making slot cornerback, forcing 32 incompletions in his first three seasons. A potential Week 1 absence is significant; the Browns secondary is tasked with containing Dallas Cowboys inside/outside star receiver CeeDee Lamb.
