CAR • QB • #9
Young opened the game with a dreadful sack and it seemed like Panthers fans were in for another long day of football. The former No. 1 overall pick responded shockingly well and led an eight-play, 90-yard scoring drive on his next at-bat. He capped the drive with a five-yard strike to tight end J’Tavion Sanders in the back of the end zone. The Panthers played things safe for most of the game, leaning on their ground game arguably to their detriment as the Giants mounted a comeback and pushed the game to overtime. A Tyrone Tracy Jr. fumble ultimately gifted Carolina the win and gave Young consecutive victories for the first time in his career. The second-year passer will almost certainly draw the start versus Kansas City coming out of Carolina’s Week 11 bye.
