Cam Akers

Cam Akers

HOURB • #22

Cam Akers rushed nine times for 42 yards and a touchdown in Houston’s Week 5 win over Buffalo, adding two catches for five yards on three targets.

Akers was surprisingly thrown into a timeshare with Dare Ogunbowale, but managed to salvage the day from a fantasy perspective with a touchdown. Neither back has shown a lot with their opportunities and the Texans have to be eagerly awaiting the return of Joe Mixon from his ankle injury. Mixon and Dameon Pierce’s recoveries will mean a lot for Akers’ fantasy playability against New England next week, but the fact that he shared the backfield really blunts any kind of volume-based argument for Akers.
