Cardinals HC Jonathan Gannon said Trey McBride has entered concussion protocol.

This doesn’t come as a surprise after McBride left Sunday’s contest against the Lions to be evaluated for a concussion. The third-year tight end took a helmet-to-helmet shot from Lions safety Brian Branch late in the game and didn’t return to the game because it ended before the Cardinals had a chance to take the field. With McBride now in concussion protocol, it’s apparent that he would not have been able to return to the game had it continued. McBride will now need to go through the steps to clear protocol before the Cardinals’ Week 4 matchup against the Commanders.
