Carson Steele rushed 17 times for 72 yards in the Chiefs’ Week 3 win over the Falcons, adding two yards on one reception.

Steele was thrust into the starting running back role for a Chiefs team that lost Isiah Pacheco for an extended period of time due to a broken fibula. He demonstrated a similar aggressive running style to the injured veteran’s, routinely picking up additional yards after first contact. Samaje Perine played sparingly in a pure change of pace role, meaning Steele could carry legitimate weekly fantasy value for as long as Pacheco remains out. That is, unless or until recent signee Kareem Hunt eventually finds his way to the game-day roster.
