Vidal (5’8/213) found some success as a part-time player and a pass-catcher early in his collegiate career, reeling in 48 balls in his first two seasons. Then, as a junior, he took over the Troy backfield and went for 1,132 yards and 10 scores. Vidal saved his best season for last with a 297/1,661/14 line as a senior. A cut above his Sun Belt competition, Pro Football Focus charted Vidal with 94 broken tackles and 47 carries of 10+ yards. Those marks ranked second and first among all FBS backs last year. For all of his great peripherals, Vidal doesn’t have elite long speed and it’s fair to say he is making a big leap in competition level by going pro. Vidal certified himself as an NFL-caliber athlete with a 4.46 40-yard dash and an 8.81 RAS. A high-floor but modest ceiling prospect, Vidal’s three-down skill set and strong production profile should secure him at least a committee role early in his career. Vidal now joins a backfield led by veterans Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins. He doesn’t have a clear path to touches at this time, but Edwards was phased out of multiple games by the Ravens in 2023 and Dobbins is returning from a torn Achilles. Vidal should make for a great value in fantasy drafts.
