Gay missed Week 1 because of a hernia but was active for the following week. He then suffered a quad injury that head coach Shane Steichen said is not related to the hernia. Gay also missed a 50-yard attempt in Week 2. Between the performance and injury concerns, the Colts could move on to Spencer Shrader, who is currently on the practice squad, for Week 3 and beyond.
