Austin Ekeler

Commanders coach Dan Quinn said RB Austin Ekeler (concussion) will stay in Virginia to treat his head injury.

The rest of the team has flown out to Arizona to practice on a short week ahead of Week 4’s matchup with the Cardinals. It’s probably reading too much into this to say that Ekeler can’t be cleared to play, but it certainly isn’t great for his odds of clearing protocol that he stayed behind. Quinn said he’ll “know more later in the week” about Ekeler’s status.
