Commanders signed OG Nick Allegretti, formerly of the Chiefs, to a three-year, $16 million contract.

The deal includes $9 million guaranteed and Allegretti will reportedly start at left guard. A 2019 seventh-rounder, Allegretti has started more than three games in a season just one time. That was 2020. He did start this season’s AFC Championship Game and Super Bowl, playing through a torn UCL (Tommy John) in the “big game.” Still, going on 28, Allegretti is a mild risk at that salary and experience level. The Commanders are betting on his experience translating to the next step.
