Darnell Mooney caught 9-of-16 targets for 105 yards and two touchdowns in the Falcons’ Week 5 overtime win over the Bucs.

It was Mooney’s first 100-yard effort since Week 17 of the 2021 season (which actually occurred in 2022). His 16 targets matched a career high as Kirk Cousins dropped back an absurd 62 times. He could have had an even bigger statistical effort but lost some yards due to drops. His scores were a second quarter 24-yarder where Cousins thread a needle into a crowd of Bucs and a fourth quarter 12-yarder where Mooney spun out of a tackle. The free agent addition has now reached at least 56 yards each of the past four weeks and posted eight receptions twice. He has three touchdowns. With Cousins predictably beginning to increase his passing volume, Mooney is looking WR3 relevant heading into a Week 6 date with the Panthers.
