Kamara (6'1/248) concluded his career at Colorado State with an impressive 13 sacks and 17 tackles for loss in his final season, earning him Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year and an invitation to the Shrine Bowl. Despite his lacking measurables, he was an extremely effective pass rusher in college as evidenced by his elite 91.2 PFF grade as a pass rusher. He flies off the edge and is nuanced with the use of his swipes and punches. While he will win with speed, bend, and finesse, he frequently resorts to power. He frequently attacks blockers with the tenacity and strength you’d like to see from an NFL edge. Although he plays with power, he does not necessarily set an edge well. His 29 defensive stops during the 2023 season prove that Kamara is a committed run defender. Despite this, he leaves something to be desired as a tackler. He is not a liability, but a 55.3 PFF grade as a tackler and a 23.4 missed tackle rate need to be improved upon. If he can add weight to improve his anchor, he has the ability to blossom into a starter.
