HOU • WR • #1
Houston will also receive fifth and sixth round picks for 2025. It’s an earthshaking trade that changes the landscape of the AFC, as the ascendent Texans acquire a top-flight wideout to add to their already-excellent receiver duo of Tank Dell and Nico Collins. The mercurial Diggs has seemed discontent with the Bills organization and QB Josh Allen for the better part of two years as Buffalo time and again failed to overcome its AFC rivals. Diggs, 30, saw his yards per reception and yards per route run plummet in 2023. The veteran disappeared in crucial games last season, including the Bills’ postseason loss to Kansas City. His absence in Buffalo’s offense should open up a glut of targets for Dalton Kincaid, Curtis Samuel, and perhaps Khalil Shakir — if the Bills don’t use significant draft capital on a wideout in the 2024 NFL Draft. Meanwhile, Collins and Dell have markedly lower statistical ceilings with the target-hogging Diggs in the mix. In any case, Houston will have an extremely narrow target distribution in 2024. Whether Diggs will be happy sharing the ball with Dell and Collins is another matter entirely.
