L'Jarius Sneed

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Chiefs have agreed to trade CB L’Jarius Sneed to the Titans for a third-round pick and seventh-round pick swap.

The franchised Sneed will also sign a new contract. It’s surprisingly light trade compensation, though Sneed is already 27 years old. He is also arguably “only” great, and not truly elite. The Chiefs, of course, would have never dealt Sneed had they not needed to keep their salary cap well managed alongside Patrick Mahomes’ monster contract. They chose interior superstar Chris Jones over Sneed, as would 31 other teams. Sneed heads to a rebuilding Titans squad, one that was routinely short-handed on the back end in 2023. He’s a big addition that should reverberate through all three levels of Tennessee’s defense.
