ESPN’s Field Yates reports the Browns restructured Deshaun Watson’s contract.

According to Yates, the Browns converted $44.79 million of Watson’s 2024 base salary into a signing bonus, which created $35.832 million in cap space. Yates also adds that the Browns now have over $62 million in cap space available to them — the most of any team in the league. Watson is just days away from making his Week 1 start against the Cowboys. He’s dealt with some arm soreness issues over the last few weeks and missed the preseason finale as a result. He’ll be a player to monitor as he looks to fully bounce back from last year’s season-ending shoulder injury.
