Geno Smith completed 28-of-40 passes for 284 yards and one touchdown in the Seahawks’ 29-20, Week 5 loss to the Giants, adding four carries for 72 yards.

The Seahawks offense could not get much going early and had several drives stagnate. Smith completed short and intermediate passes often, but there were few deep balls in the loss to the Giants. During the fourth quarter, Smith was sacked in the Seahawks’ own territory on 4th-and-1, hurting chances of a comeback. His only touchdown throw came in late-game, hurry-up offense, finding Jaxon Smith-Njigba in the back of the end zone. A 32-yard rush from Smith later set up a field goal attempt to tie the game, though Jason Myers’ kick was blocked and returned for the game-sealing score. Smith is a fantasy QB2, but will have a tougher matchup against the 49ers for Thursday Night Football in Week 6.
