Giants QB Drew Lock (oblique) said he’s “100 percent confident” he’ll be ready to play by Week 1.

Lock suffered a bone contusion and oblique injury in the Giants’ preseason game against the Lions. The veteran quarterback said he has already resumed throwing and that his return has to do with both pain tolerance and whether or not he could risk further injury by returning too soon. Lock is battling with Tommy DeVito for the right to be Daniel Jones’ backup but will likely land on the Giants’ 53-man roster, given the overall need for security at a position that, at its best, remains thin.
