Recruited as a wide receiver at Iowa, Tracy (5’11/209) was on his way to a breakout at the position with 589 receiving yards and three scores as a sophomore. He fell out of the rotation at Iowa and transferred to Purdue after four years. He didn’t transition to running back until a year after switching schools but found success immediately with 113 attempts for 716 yards and eight scores while also contributing as a pass-catcher. Tracy has the footwork and agility to dance around defenders but is more than big enough to shed arm tackles at the next level. He affirmed his athleticism at the combine with a 4.48 40-yard dash and elite times in the agility drills. Tracy still has some nuances to learn as a running back. He is too often caught chasing the home run play when an easy gain is right in front of him. However, his background as a receiver and strong measurables could earn him a versatile role early in his NFL career, and he couldn’t have picked a better landing spot for immediate value.
