Gus Edwards rushed 18 times for 59 yards in the Chargers’ Week 2 win over the Panthers.

Edwards out-carried J.K. Dobbins 18-17, but it was Dobbins who once again easily seized the yardage crown. It was also Dobbins who got the touchdown, albeit on a 49-yarder. The closest Edwards came to a goal-line carry came from the Panthers’ seven. Up to 29 totes through two games, Edwards isn’t establishing the “hot hand,” but he is still going to be needed for weekly between-the-tackles touches in this run-heavy attack. That absolutely includes Week 3 against the Steelers.
