Forced into action after Jordan Mason rocked his shoulder late in the second quarter, fourth-round rookie Guerendo was mostly ineffective in predictable rushing situations until uncorking a 76-yarder with 1:39 remaining in the fourth. Dubiously, he slid down at the Seahawks’ six-yard line instead of scoring. It was dubious because the Niners were only up five and the Seahawks had all three timeouts. They could have easily gotten the ball back with enough time left to score a game-tying touchdown. Even Deebo Samuel said after the game the rook should have just scored. Alas. The attention now turns to Mason’s bulky shoulder. He has 10 days to get cleared for Week 7 against the Chiefs after almost returning and featuring in this evening’s second half. In the meantime, Guerendo is a must add in all formats with only journeyman Patrick Taylor behind him.
