Jahmyr Gibbs

Jahmyr Gibbs

Jahmyr Gibbs rushed 13 times for 84 yards against the Buccaneers in Week 2, adding 22 yards on seven receptions.

Gibbs out-carried his backfield mate David Montgomery 13-11, though Montgomery converted on a short touchdown run. Gibbs caught all seven of his targets, but was mostly stifled in the receiving game as he gained only 22 yards. He was used again and again as a check down option with Detroit’s downfield passing game nonexistent after a 50 yard pass to Jameson Williams on the first drive. PPR scam? You bet. Gibbs had more juice in the running game as he averaged 6.5 yards per carry. Expect the even split in the Detroit backfield to continue into the Lions’ Week 3 road matchup with the Cardinals.
