Hurts didn’t throw any picks, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t turn the ball over. He was sacked twice and put the ball on the ground two times, one of which was lost. Hurts also came dangerously close to throwing a pick-six to Cooper DeJean. The rookie read Hurts perfectly and broke on the ball for a diving catch. He got up and took it to the house, but the pass was ruled incomplete after review. Turnovers have been an issue for Hurts and things only got worse in a sloppy game versus the Bucs. To be fair to Hurts, he almost certainly felt pressured to play hero-ball with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith out of the lineup this week. The Eagles get their bye next week, giving both Brown and Smith a good shot at returning for Philly’s next game. Philly fans and fantasy managers should hold off on pressing the panic button until then. Hurts will slip down the QB1 ranks for his Week 6 matchup with the Browns.
