Colts head coach Shane Steichen has yet to rule out Downs. Still, he appears to be a long shot to suit up for Week 1 against the Texans. Downs picked up the ankle injury August 7 and was given a recovery time of 4-6 weeks. It wouldn’t be surprising if the Colts held out Down until Week 3. If Downs is sidelined, Michael Pittman, Alec Pierce, and Adonai Mitchell would likely be the team’s top three wideouts. Anthony Gould could work in as a slot receiver too.
