Justin Herbert (ankle) said he doesn’t think he will be rested through the Chargers’ Week 5 bye.

Herbert managed to do some 7-on-7 drills in Wednesday’s practice and told reporters he is feeling “less pain.” The young quarterback suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 2 and tried to play through the issue last week. He left in the third quarter and did not return. Taylor Heinicke took over and would be in line to do so again if Herbert can’t suit up for Week 4, though it sounds like he has a shot to play in a high-leverage matchup with the Chiefs. If he can go, expect an absurdly run-heavy approach from Jim Harbaugh.
