Willis abided by a masterful game plan from Matt LaFleur to keep Willis away from potential mistakes against a banged-up Indianapolis defense. Willis, who has been miserably ineffective in his previous NFL starts, never came close to throwing an interception against the Colts thanks largely to a hugely run-heavy game plan. Willis avoided big hits when he fled the pocket and threw it out of bounds when the defense gave him nothing. It was a shockingly adequate performance from a QB who had been frighteningly bad as a Titans spot starter. LaFleur, unlike Mike Vrabel, understands how to game plan for Willis.
