NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Justin Fields will “test his hamstring when he gets to the stadium tonight to determine his role” for Week 8 against the Giants.

This would be more newsworthy if Fields were starting in Week 8. His pre-game tests are more or less to determine whether he will serve as the backup to starter Russell Wilson or if Kyle Allen will serve as the Steelers’ QB2 on the night. Whether he’s active or not should bear no weight on fantasy managers starting Wilson in 2QB/SuperFlex leagues.
