Jacobs’ deal is expected to be a four-year contract worth $48 million. This one comes as a bit of a surprise. Jacobs’ signing officially spells the end of AJ Dillon’s time in Green Bay, but Aaron Jones still has one year left on his deal and is going to count a little more than $17.5 million against the Packers’ cap next season. Hamstring injuries limited Jones to just 11 games last season, and at 29 years old, it’s safe to assume he won’t be handling the workload we’re accustomed to seeing, assuming he’s even on the team next season. Jacobs, who averaged just 3.8 YPC last season, will step in as the Packers’ lead back and could see a high-volume role if Jones were released and/or traded in the coming days. Jacobs has caught 30 or more passes in each of his last four seasons and has a chance to be a valuable asset in PPR leagues.
