Packers GM Brian Gutekunst says Jordan Love won’t practice until he signs a contract extension.

“I feel we’re close,” Gutekunst said on Monday regarding the two sides agreeing to terms on an extension. Love’s agent informed Gutekunst that the star quarterback won’t practice without a new deal, which now shifts focus onto how soon a deal could get done. ProFootballTalk’s Mike Florio reported earlier that the sense is Love’s contract is “more money than structure,” suggesting that it could just be a matter of getting the dollar amount right. Both sides have appeared optimistic about a deal getting done sooner rather than later, so it’s possible something will come to fruition in the very near future.
