RB Jonathan Taylor rushed four times for 15 yards and caught 1-of-1 targets for eight yards in the Colts’ preseason game against the Bengals.
Taylor played 100.0 percent of the opening drive snaps before retiring for the night. He logged two third-down snaps, including one with seven-plus yards to go. Taylor is a locked-in RB1 for 2024.
Colts general manager Chris Ballard told reporters that the team has “got to have competition at the position just for the fact that, one, competition makes everybody better and, two, [Anthony Richardson has] not proven he can play 17 games.”
Josh Jacobs rushed 18 times for 81 yards and a touchdown in Green Bay’s Wild Card Round loss to the Eagles, adding three catches for 40 yards on three targets.
