Payton said he wanted Williams to look more like he did during his final season of college ball. He then noted that Williams’ goal was to get down to 220 or 221 pounds, which would be a few pounds heavier than his weight at the NFL Combine. Payton named Williams as a player who stood out during the first day of training camp and praised him for his speed. Williams was an electric player early in his career but looked sluggish in 2023. He averaged 3.6 yards per carry after returning from a catastrophic knee injury in the previous season. If Williams can return to form while still holding onto a lead-back role this year, he will be a phenomenal value at his current positional ADP of RB34.
