Ingram was the Vikings’ second-round pick in 2022 and has started 41 of the 48 games he has played. Set to enter the final year of his deal and with the Vikings apparently not interested in extending him, Ingram will have the chance to earn a new contract with the Texans this upcoming season. Ingram has allowed 21 sacks and 124 pressures during his three seasons with the Vikings — the most of any guard in the league over that span — and was benched last season for his performance. Still, the Texans’ decision to acquire him is a low-risk move for the team to see if a change of scenery can lead to better production. It wouldn’t be at all surprising if Ingram were on the free-agent market next offseason.
