Dameon Pierce

Texans declared RB Dameon Pierce (ankle), WR John Metchie II, S M.J. Stewart, LB Jamal ill, C/G Juice Scruggs (groin) and LB Rashad Weaver inactive for Week 2 against the Bears.

Pierce was dealing with an ankle injury, and Cam Akers will be the backup o Joe Mixon in Sunday night’s showdown with Chicago. Pierce showed promise in his rookie campaign, but simply hasn’t been effective enough to consider, regardless of his health status. Scruggs is also unavailable due to a groin strain.
