The Athletic’s Alec Lewis writes that Sam Darnold “would almost certainly be drawn to the prospect of learning from” Raiders minority owner Tom Brady.

Lewis, the Vikings beat writer for The Athletic, also connects Darnold to the Raiders by noting that “if the size and length of the contract are Darnold’s ultimate focus, few teams have the resources necessary to put together a better financial package.” The Raiders enter the offseason second in cap space behind the Patriots, with Over The Cap estimating that they will have around $92 million in room. Pete Carroll has experience working with well-traveled quarterbacks, and the Raiders, picking at No. 6 overall, can’t guarantee one of the draft’s top quarterbacks this year. In other words: This fit makes sense on a lot of levels.
