The Athletic’s David Lombardi reports Christian McCaffrey could have played had the 49ers been in a playoff game.

This is interesting news especially on the heels of 49ers’ running back Jordan Mason saying he knew he was starting Friday (for Monday Night Football). It has already been reported that McCaffrey could very well miss Week 2 against the Vikings so knowing he could’ve potentially played is puzzling. This is slowly becoming a saga for the consensus top pick in fantasy drafts this season. With Mason set to get another start and no real timetable on CMC’s return, fantasy managers can only sit back and wait.
