“This isn’t about a new contract ... this is about winning for Myles Garrett. This is about him wanting to go be part of an organization that is built toward winning,” Russini said. One constant drumbeat of the first few days of the Myles Garrett Trade Industrial Complex is that reporters with sources have said it isn’t about the money with Garrett. Whether that stays true over the coming months remains to be seen. If the Browns truly don’t want to part with Garrett and Garrett truly doesn’t want to be a Brown in spite of a potential raise and extension, we might wind up with a holdout or “hold in” situation in training camp. It would seem to make more sense on paper for the Browns to rebuild around picks for Garrett given how poorly they played last year, but they haven’t exactly shown much interest in resetting the roster under Andrew Berry.
