The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports the Steelers are “still” in talks with the 49ers about a trade for WR Brandon Aiyuk.

“No deal is done,” Russini said, citing sources familiar with the ongoing trade negotiations. The Aiyuk contact squabble and potential trade out of San Francisco has stretched on for weeks. ESPN reported Tuesday that Aiyuk did not want to be traded to the Patriots, who were willing to pay him more than $30 million per year. Aiyuk landing with the run-heavy Steelers would likely make George Pickens the team’s No. 2 wideout and could catapult Ricky Pearsall into a starting role with the Niners.
