The Athletic’s Dianna Russini thinks Brock Purdy could “wind up” with a contract worth $55 to $60 million per season.

$55-$60 million a season, for reference, would pay Purdy like a top-five quarterback in average annual value. “I think the agent is going to try to get more but they’ll wind up settling in that area,” Russini said on a podcast with Robert Mays. “I think they’re going to begin working on this very soon. This isn’t something they’re going to be pushing off or that we’re going to be discussing during training camp. I think this is something that they’re both in line with. Let’s get the ball rolling on this and figure out where we are going to land on a number,” she added. The structure of Purdy’s deal will likely be backloaded as the 49ers try to eke one more year of this core. They come into the offseason with $48 million in cap space per Over The Cap.
