Kendrick Bourne

The Athletic’s Michael Silver believes the 49ers could target Kendrick Bourne before the trade deadline.

Silver states “the 49ers are undoubtedly eyeballing the New England Patriots’ roster,” before explaining that the “1-6 Patriots... are in fire-sale mode... The two teams had trade discussions over the summer when Aiyuk wanted out; one player San Francisco targeted was wide receiver Kendrick Bourne,” noting that Bourne spent his first four seasons playing for Shanahan’s 49ers squad. Making a move to bolster the injury-weakened wide receiver corps makes sense for the 49ers, given their recent spate of injuries. Bourne can be speculatively stashed on roomy fantasy benches in the short term.
