Sermon was stymied on his only goal-line carry and wasn’t targeted in the passing game, so it was not an effective spot start. Tyler Goodson was far more efficient as a change-of-pace option, turning eight carries into 51 yards. Goodson also caught four passes. With Jonathan Taylor (ankle) not seeming particularly close to a return, we could see a Week 7 repeat of this committee, though the particulars keep shifting. Sermon hasn’t shown enough the past two weeks to be considered anything more than a touches-based FLEX.
