Andrew Van Ginkel

Vikings agreed to terms with EDGE Andrew Van Ginkel, formerly of the Dolphins, on a two-year, $20 million contract.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the deal includes $14 million guaranteed. Part of a Dolphins defensive exodus, Van Ginkel is part of a Vikings defensive emphasis as they spend on Brian Flores’ side of the ball the same day Kirk Cousins departed for Atlanta. Van Ginkel had a career campaign under DC Vic Fangio in 2023, registering a career-high six sacks and earning monster pass rush and coverage grades from Pro Football Focus. He probably still won’t be an every-down player in Minnesota, but he has extensive experience in Flores’ system from his time in Miami. It’s a strong, reasonably-affordable fit.
