Reddick, who was acquired in a trade with the Eagles earlier this offseason, is in search of a new contract and has been absent from voluntary OTAs as a result. The 29-year-old pass rusher, who totaled 27 sacks in two seasons with the Eagles, has one year left on his current deal and will turn 30 in late September. The Jets acquired Reddick in exchange for a conditional 2026 third-round pick and would be wise to come to terms on a new deal, given their decision to acquire him in the first place. However, there appears to be little movement between the two sides to get a deal done at this time. Head coach Robert Saleh said last week he expects Reddick to report to minicamp but also said he was surprised Reddick wasn’t present at OTAs. We’ll know where this situation stands by Tuesday when the Jets open mandatory minicamp.
