WR Alec Pierce caught 0-of-1 targets in the Colts’ preseason game against the Broncos on Sunday.
Pierce was the Colts’ starter opposite Michael Pittman Jr. and played an extra drive after the first-team offense was benched. He logged 11-of-13 snaps lined up on the perimeter.
Colts general manager Chris Ballard told reporters that the team has “got to have competition at the position just for the fact that, one, competition makes everybody better and, two, [Anthony Richardson has] not proven he can play 17 games.”
