Williams bounced back from a rough first half to push for the Bears victory in the second half. He was under pressure often, getting sacked three times and fumbling, though the fumble was recovered back by the Bears. Removing kneel-downs, Williams added three carries for 14 yards as well. The highlight of the day was a nine-yard touchdown pass to DJ Moore, quieting doubts of tension between the duo and giving them their first scoring connection of the season. The offense is going to continue to go through growing pains with the team especially needing to clean up pre-snap and offensive line penalties. Many of Williams’ misses can also be attributed to not being on the same page as receivers, though punter Tory Taylor has been saving a lot of stalled drives with booming kicks. Cleaning up these miscues will boost an offense still developing under 22-year-old Williams’ watch. He is a QB2 play for Week 5 against the Panthers.
