Jarrian Jones

Jaguars selected Florida State CB Jarrian Jones with the No. 96 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Jones (6’0/190) has a non-stop motor and competitive nature that just doesn’t quit until the final whistle. Initially attended Mississippi State until he was pressured to move to safety, causing him to seek a transfer after his freshman season. He possesses notable ball-hawking abilities with 11 pass breakups and four interceptions over the last two seasons, peaking with an 87th-percentile cover grade last year. His timing and anticipation at the catch point are top-tier, as he didn’t allow a single coverage touchdown in back-to-back seasons for Florida State. Jones has a willingness to get down and dirty in the run support as well, with 12 run stops in 2023, but will need to improve his unsightly 19 percent missed tackle rate over the last two seasons. A workout warrior, Jones ran a 4.38s 40-yard dash and posted a 39.5-inch vertical on his way to a scorching 9.61 RAS. He has decent footwork but could use some polish as he struggles at times with change of direction relying on his speed more often than not. A Florida State team leader who received the Bobby Bowden Leadership award in 2023, Jones brings positional versatility as he can play outside or in the nickel, which is where he transitioned to in 2023.
