Sam Darnold

Sam Darnold completed 14-of-31 passes for 179 yards and an interception in Minnesota’s 23-17 Week 5 win over the Jets.

He left for a play after taking a sack in the second quarter, but immediately returned. Darnold’s easy throws from Week 1-4 largely disappeared after Minnesota’s first drive, and the second-half offense became “target Justin Jefferson for defensive penalties or incompletions” with Aaron Jones out. His one pick was ghastly and Darnold’s off-script throws resembled Darnold Classic rather than 2024’s new and improved version. Darnold isn’t necessarily someone you must hold in 1QB leagues as he enters his Week 6 bye, but he’ll likely remain a viable low-end QB1 under Kevin O’Connell.
